Nursery
Welcome to Dickson Nursery Unit. The class teacher is Mrs Morrow. Miss Dumigan is our Nursery Assistant. This year we also have Miss Dowey and Miss Moorhead working as SEN assistants.
September
We had a very busy month in September welcoming all 27 children into the nursery class. We have had lots of new routines to learn and toys to play with. It has been fun. Sometimes we had tears because the children did not want to go home!! If you click the link to the right under related pages, you will be able to view some September Play Photographs.
October
During October, we had lots of fun collecting apples from the trees in the big school and making apple crumble. We painted with autumn colours and stapled leaves onto pages. We made spiders at the sticky table and enjoyed a dress-up day at the end of October. We had party food and ate the monster buns we had made. November
In November we were learning about Fruit and Vegetables and Wild Animals. We made fruit salad and vegetable soup. We played intoe house corned shop, selling real fruit and vegetables. Learning about wild animals was also fun. We dressed up, made animal noises and sang lots of fun songs. Henry Wee Wheels visited our Nursery and we all got to give him a cuddle. He is a very special dog who shows us how we can help others. Henry likes to get his ears scratched because he cannot do it himself. It even snowed in November and we had good fun playing in the snow and building a snowman.
December
I can assume everyone will be able to guess what our topic for December was.......Christmas!! But we also learnt about Winter weather and seasonal changes. The children had lots of fun dressing up as Santa or elves, making and putting up decorations and, of course leaning all our Christmas songs for our Activity morning.
